    Historical Data - Proxy

I have an AWS instance running the zabbix server. Then there are zabbix proxies in remote locations monitoring those location. Currently I have the zabbix server shut off during off hours to cut EC2 costs, but after the server comes back online it is missing the data collected by the proxy during the hours it was powered off.

This might be a case of me not understanding how the proxy is to be used, but I thought it would collect data and hold it until the server was available. i.e. a remote site with unreliable connectivity would collect data in the proxy then send it when the connection came back online.

    Hi,
Your understanding of the proxy is correct.

Proxy by default buffers the data only for 1 hour, but this period can be controlled in zabbix_proxy.conf file per each proxy.
    ProxyOfflineBuffer is the setting. https://www.zabbix.com/documentation...g/zabbix_proxy

Start by checking this, could be your case.
But when setting the Offline Buffer period keep in mind the hourly amount of data the proxy collects and the available disk space as you don't want the proxy to fill its disk completely during servers' downtime.

Ah, good cache. Will update to 72 hours worth of history to cover weekends as well. Thanks!
