deletion of a proxy in the server gui

Hello Forum,

unfortunately my request in the existing thread hasn´t been answered yet.

Maybe a new one helps

Today I updated to 2.2.3 (binary/Ubuntu, Thanks, Zabbix people!) and hoped that this problem would disappear.

Unfortunately when I try to delete the unused proxy in the server gui I see the following:

Error in query [DELETE FROM interface WHERE hostid='11288'] [Cannot delete or update a parent row: a foreign key constraint fails (`zabbix`.`items`, CONSTRAINT `c_items_4` FOREIGN KEY (`interfaceid`) REFERENCES `interface` (`interfaceid`))]
SQL statement execution has failed "DELETE FROM interface WHERE hostid='11288'"
Can anyone help me getting rid of this problem?

Thank you in advance and best regards
Claudio

deleting proxy in GUI does not work! (2.2.3)

Hello forum - no one has an idea?

It´s nasty to see a log file consisting only of messages of the type:

Unable to connect to the proxy [arus003 - Zabbix Proxy] [10.29.252.6]:10051 [cannot connect to [[10.29.252.6]:10051]: [111] Connection refused
Everything else is working fine.

Thanks in advance,
Claudio

deleting zabbix proxy-still doesn´t work in 2.4.1

I have tried to delete a proxy via the server GUI beginning with Zabbix 2.2.3.
The latest error message with zabbix server 2.4.1:

Code:
Error in query [DELETE FROM interface WHERE hostid='11288'] [Cannot delete or update a parent row: a foreign key constraint fails (`zabbix`.`items`, CONSTRAINT `c_items_4` FOREIGN KEY (`interfaceid`) REFERENCES `interface` (`interfaceid`))]
SQL statement execution has failed "DELETE FROM interface WHERE hostid='11288'"
Has anyone an idea on how to delete this proxy?

Thank you in advance
Claudio

you seem to have a slightly corrupted database - somehow some items are using that interface, even though they should not.

select itemid from items where hostid='11288';

what does that give you ?

output of select statement

Hi richlv,

mysql> select itemid from items where hostid='11288';
+--------+
itemid
+--------+
68981
68982
68983
+--------+

Can I do anything else?
Sorry for the late reply - I have been on vacation !

Thank you and best regards

it is unlikely those items are of any use - nevertheless, you could do a full select on them and see what those are.

in the end you'll probably have to delete them - and then you should be able to delete that proxy

well, i'm no much of a forum person and i missed that notification email... anyway, to get full item info you would do this :

select * from items where hostid='11288';

then see whether any of that looks useful. of not, just delete those items :

delete from items where hostid='11288';

deleting zabbix proxy-still doesn´t work in 2.4.1

Thank you for your answer. I followed your advice and was able to delete the 'dead' proxy afterwards from the GUI.

I hope you receive this update - thanks a lot again and best regards

I would like to close this thread or mark it as solved...unfortunately don´t know how.

Thanks richlv! We've had some lingering proxies "stuck" in the DM / Proxy page, with this error, for awhile now - they were old proxies from our 1.8 days just hanging out - feels good to have that page cleaned up finally!
