Exctract substring from generic log

Hi,
I have a log maked from custom hardware like this:

59G01572052016-12-1715:30:001671300599531780220000200100000000000054 30039000000001450001000000000000000800000000000000 000005860000000000000000000000000000000

Where every character have precise position on record. I want a function for 'divide' this record in 'human readable' form like this:

field1: 59
field2: G
field3: 0157
ecc ecc..

When I have this I want apply trigger for fireup alarm..

Do not find function for make this.. somebody have some ideas?

You may create dependent items field1 (Numeric), field2 (Character), etc for a log type master item.

maybe I understood.. I don't have understand how extract substring, for example "field1" to original string with regular expression..
