Optimal intervals for values

Hello,

Could someone please help me with optimal intervals for standard values? Which one are you using?

For:

• CPU usage

• RAM usage

• disk usage

• network usage

• state of server/service/network equipment

• Some other additional values

Any help and experience will be apreciated.

Added: It would be great if you provide info about host/item numbers and nvps also. This would help to compare enviroments.

I'm using the intervals:

• CPU usage - 30 seconds
• RAM usage - 60 sec
• disk usage - 60 sec
• network usage - 60 sec
• state of server/service/network equipment - 60 to 900 sec (depend on Item)
• Some other additional values - 60 to 900 sec (depend on Item)

I'm using long intervals (up to 86400 sec) for static-like value (Total disk space, Total amount of memory, Description of Interfaces, Name of server, etc.)

My setup is pretty small.

60 sec for disk usage is imho not needed, 900 sec would be more than enough.

Sorry for misunderstanding - Disk usage is not only Total/Free/Used space, but also Disk Activity.
You are right, for Disk Usage I use 600-3600 second interval.
But for Disk Activity I prefer 60 sec.
