Zabbix server 2.2 + Zabbix agent 1.8.1 = compatible?

Hi all,

I have a Zabbix server v.1.8.1 and the same version agents installed on a few servers and also a Zabbix Proxy 1.8.1 that sends data to the main server.
Since the initial installation no upgrades were performed.

I wonder, can I upgrade the main Zabbix server from 1.8.1 to v.2.2 without upgrading the Proxy and the Agents on the other servers at the same time, right now?

Do you think that this could cause incompatibility issues?

Sometimes ago I had the same configuration:
- zabbix server 2.2.0
- zabbix agent 1.8.xx

It was working well.

After a couple of month I updated zabbix agent to version 2.2.0 and zabbix server to version 2.2.3.

It still working!!!

The servers that the zabbix agent is running on are critical and I really don't have time to setup new servers for testing.

Well, it's take less than 5 minutes to update agent.
You don't have to stop any other services.

Yes, I know,

But it would be an issue if the monitoring would break because of agent incompatibility...
