Zabbix custom development steps

Hi friends,

I want to bring some changes into zabbix's dashboard but i don't know where to begin with.

I have downloaded its archived codes too from this page http://www.zabbix.com/developers.php but due to the lack of development knowledge in PHP projects, I could not figure out which IDE to use. But i guess, Eclipse is good to go.

Can anyone please suggest me how to begin with an IDE (suggest the best name)? How to import this archived file, what pre-configurations are required in the IDE, etc?

I want to add breakpoints in the codes and understand the functioning as well, so that i could add some extra functions wherever required.

I'd be glad to learn from your support.

Figured out !!

I got this to achieve from Eclipse.

However, if anyone has some detailed documentations of Zabbix development then please post the link.

Zabbix is not pure PHP. Only frontend is PHP. Server/agent is in C.
