    Count the operational UP interfaces.

    Hi there,

Somewhat new to Zabbix, and have just setup, and so far working well. I have it monitoring several Cisco switches via SNMP, which is useful, however what I'd like to get is a single metric representing the number of operationally up / active interfaces there are on the device in question.

On a per interface level, I can see both the operational and administrative status of the interface.

How can I calculate / sum, the status of all the interfaces, and treat it as another item?

    Thanks,

    Wazza

Do you mind to write the external script which will collect all information what do you need?
(just from top of my head)
    Sincerely yours,

      Hey,

I'm sure I can write a script if I need, but I would have thought that since Zabbix already has collected all the data, all I really want to do is SUM the operational state of the interfaces?

      Is this not possible?

      Thanks,

      Wazza

        It's not possible so far.
Zabbix doesn't have any information about how many interfaces he has to summarize.
        Sincerely yours,
        Aleksey
