    Monitoring a service

    Hi all,

Trying to set up a temple for two services on windows

The services name showing in services are: F6EDOService and F6SpoolService (both have different display names)

I've created my template and added two items. Both are set up the same - eg

Name: State of service "F6EDOService" (F6EDOService)
    Type: Zabbix agent
    Key: service.info[F6EDOService]
    Type of information: Numeric (unsigned)
    Update interval: 1m
    Show value: Windows service state

I've then created the triggers - eg

    Name: service.info[F6EDOService] not running
    Expression: {LB01 Services:service.info[F6EDOService].min(#3)}<>0

In the dashboard both of the services are showing as not running. I've checked the server and they both are running.
I've gone through the manual and lookuped up the expression https://www.zabbix.com/documentation...ers/expression, but I'm not sure where I have gone wrong?

    Thanks

    Hi

Check values on the zabbix item (maybe it is not 0).

    And this trigger is strange.

I have to expression is services not running. {host:services.info[some].last(0)}>0

      Hi,

I don't understand how to Check values on the zabbix item? how would you now that the value is not 0?
Yea I did use last first, (was following the zabbix cookbook) but I had the same result. So I had a look at the default template and looked at the expression being used on the discovery services with used the .min(#3)}<>0
I've also tried the discovery service on the host and it hasn't picked up the service I'm trying to monitor. Would it possible that the zabbix agent cannot see the service?

      So using the .last

        Hi,
You can check the latest received values for an item by navigating to Monitoring - Latest data. Filter the items by name or host, and check the data in the "Last value" column and/or by clicking on the History button.
