I've been working with a custom xymon (Yes, we still use this), somehow the xymon is still working for us, but cause the fear of agents compatibility I'm looking forward to change it. Doing this, I'm reading and studyng about Zabbix.
But I've some questions about, how much can I customaze the Zabbix.
And I'm talking about four main things:
- The monitoring page, like change color, icons, and create a "unique monitoring system" for our clients;
- And the most important. How much can the agent can be versatile, because nowadays, if a have a output for anything I can create a plugin for it using bash for Linux and PowerShell for Windows. Database, Aplication, Operation System, External devices like temperature monitor, etc. So the question is, can I make third party scripts to get information about something ? If is possibble, does you have ever done this ? Any "hello world" will help me.
- Nowadays we use "information data", I mean, things to help the support to know better the client environment, like serial numbers/mac addres on ether comunication/ things that are not graphical information.
- And finaly, could Zabbix inform thoose things, or even customizate the output on the way the Dev wants to? For example:
-I want to create a table, informimg the 20 last backups on bareos. And another one informimg logs... (This is just an example).
