Zabbix backups

Hello all,
We are running Zabbix version 4.0.4 on CentOS - we are looking into having some automated backups and were wondering how other people are doing it, how do you guys backup your zabbix server?
Is it as simple as exporting the data base to a remote location? or create a mysql replication to a remote sever do we have a hot backup for faster recovery?

I just backup the configuration of zabbix, not the gobs of history data. Backups are a few megs I think each night.
I could backup the entire database, but it's massive and if the data is gone it's really not that serious.
