Monitoring file count on Windows...

Hi,

I need monitor to the file count in directories on Windows.
I have created an Template with Ithem with these parameters:

Type: Zabbiz Agent
Key: vfs.dir.count[Z:\Avid MediaFiles\MXF\MD-4\1]
Type of Informations: Numeric Unsigned

But a I have there as a result Unsuported Item Key.
I have also added the same paramater to the UserParameters in Zabbix config, but still the same error.

Please can anyone help ma and tell me where is what needed to set, that it works corectly?

Hi, Alfisha.
You need Zabbix agent v.4.0.x. But it doesn't work with Zabbix server v.3.x.x.

Thanks I forgote to update it.
And is enough to configure the Item as I have it or is needed to configure comething else? While I have updated to the last agent version 4.0.4 and still the same error.

Its working, I had a mistake in typing.
But have found another problem. I have added 4 the same file count functions but on different folders and one of them will not work and have Timeout while waiting for data and all folders are on the same disk.

Please can you help me.

I have played and with this parameters and found some problems which I can resolve:

1. I can only run 3 instances of it. If I run more the other will not work.
2. The Items was working some time, and then they stopped collecting data.

I found to it these errors:

7637:20190221:081003.387 Zabbix agent item "vfs.dir.count["Z:\Avid MediaFiles\MXF\MD-4"]" on host "192.168.54.45" failed: first network error, wait for 15 seconds
7637:20190221:081023.468 Zabbix agent item "vfs.dir.count["Z:\Avid MediaFiles\MXF\MD-4"]" on host "192.168.54.45" failed: another network error, wait for 15 seconds
7637:20190221:081043.604 Zabbix agent item "vfs.dir.count["Z:\Avid MediaFiles\MXF\MD-4"]" on host "192.168.54.45" failed: another network error, wait for 15 seconds
7637:20190221:081058.660 resuming Zabbix agent checks on host "192.168.54.45": connection restored

3. I have also found that the colected data are not changing even the file count has changed in the folder

Please help me.
I dont understand where is the problem, but now I have on all 4 these instances "Timeout while waiting for data" and they will not work.
Please can anyone tell me where I do an mistake by configuration?

Now I have this error:

10192:20190222:110437.622 item "192.168.54.45:vfs.dir.count["Z:\Avid MediaFiles\MXF\MD-2"]" became not supported: Timeout while waiting for data.
10194:20190222:110439.628 item "192.168.54.45:vfs.dir.count["Z:\Avid MediaFiles\MXF\MD-4_1\1"]" became not supported: Timeout while waiting for data.
10193:20190222:111035.492 item "192.168.54.45:vfs.dir.count["Z:\Avid MediaFiles\MXF\MD-2"]" became supported

These and the above errors are changing in the log.

Try to increase an agent timeout. Perhaps there are too many files in these folders.

you mean in the agent at the host (monitored) PC?
I have increast it from default 3sec to 10sec, but still will not work all items.
On the front end still have the same error "Timeout while waiting for data" on some items. and in logs:

Can be the problem in it, that there are changing the files (many addings and removing)?
Is there anything else what I can do? Increase agent instances, or something like changing to active agent?

Please can any one help me to tell why I can run obly 3 instances (items) with these parameter on one zabbix agent?
And why are the graphs with gaps, as if there are not the data.

Even I have created for each item new Template and added it to multiple hosts to balance the loading still it will not work.
Still have this errors:

While I need to count many files - about 5k~10k.
