Didn't getting e-mail notification for particular hostgroup users.

    Hello Team,

I have created user group, added user in this group and also added the hostgroup in the user group with Read-Write permission and user is with Zabbix Admin permission. E-mail id is also added for user when we create the user in media tab. But the user is not getting any e-mail notification for any problem in zabbix.

I have added mail id for Zabbix Admin user and we are getting all the notification for zabbix Admin user.

Can you please help me whats change are required at my end. It is the last hurdle to complete my project. Any help or guidance will be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

go to "Configuration" > "Actions" and then in the Action itself you'll find "Operations".
Check if the user is included in "Send to Users" or "Send to User groups".

    Best regards

Please check the action settings. Have you configured to send a message to the added user group or user in the action settings?
The sample action "Report problems to Zabbix administrators" registered by default is only sent to users who belong to the user group "Zabbix administrators".

        Hello Atsushi/Cpt,

Thank you for your responses. I have made the same changes and all things are working fine.

I have one more question, i have created action for one host can we use the same action for another host or we need to create separate action for another host? If yes then how we can use? Currently i am creating different-different action for each host. So it little bit time consuming.

        Thanks a lot.

          Hi Tek,

if your hosts are of the same category eq. Server or Switch, then I recommend using host groups for the notification actions.
You just have to change the Conditions from "Host = Switch XYZ" to "Host group = Switches".
          Attached a screenshot for you.

          Best regards

            Hello Cpt,

            Thank you for your response.

Your answer is correct and i am using in same way.

My question was different but i asked in wrong way.

It was my mistake i wrote "Action" instead of "item". I have created item for one host and trigger for same. Now can we use the same item for another host or we need to write another item under second host?

If we can use then how we can add the same item and trigger under another host?

            Thanks.

              Hi Tek,

              no problem. :-)
You can use the same items for multiple host, without creating them by hand over and over again by working with templates. Same with triggers.
You can configure Templates under "Configuration" > "Templates". Create your own or enlarge the zabbix defaults.
Even more for specific use cases can be found here: https://share.zabbix.com/

After you configured the templates the way you want, you just have to link them to your hosts.

Let me know if thats what your looking for.

              Best regards

Hi, zabbix use cache for action/trigger??
this night after a failure for a trigger, recipents of specific group didn't received nothig but in action log i can see that for the same trigger, zabbix has sent message for a different group:

                  i try to explain....
                  example:

                  GROUP A
                  GROUP B

                  USER A (GROUP A)
                  USER B (GROUP B)

                  TRIGGER A
                  TRIGGER B

ACTION A (sent message to group A) WHEN TRIGGER A
ACTION B (sent message to group B) WHEN TRIGGER B

BUT.. in action log i see that on trigger B activation , zabbix has sent to USER A (GROUP A) due ACTION A and not to USER B (GROUP B) as explain on ACTION B

                  how is possible??
                  N.B.
to create all "B" items i used the "clone" option.. can this produce issue?
