Hello and thanks for taking time to read my post.
We brought in new PDUs for our datacenter and my boss is requesting that we get them added into our monitoring tools (2 separate Zabbix servers, and Observium). He was able to provide me with an MIB file for the devices.
I am trying to get it hooked into a newer zabbix server before I put it into the live environments. Unfortunately, I did not build this server and so I am seriously lacking in understanding where they allocated conf files or how they tied things together.
From everything I have walked through today, I should just be copying the MIB into /usr/share/snmp/mibs
From there I am confused on how to get the SNMP program to "know" that the MIB is there. I am also not sure how I build a template from an MIB file and I am now convinced I may be completely wrong in how I am approaching this (like I swear if it's just a GUI drag and drop inside Zabbix I'm going to ... be very frustrated).
I don't know what details people will need to have a better idea of how to help me so I will add information as it is requested. I apologize in advance for not really knowing what I am doing but I really need to get this implemented in the next 72 hours so that we can start monitoring these PDUs.
I can say we are running Zabbix 3.4.15
This is on a CentOS 7.6.1810 server
I know some of the file locations may not be defaults but are likely "homebrewed" and this I think is what's killing me.
Any and all help is very much appreciated.
Thank you.
