    Macros & trigger discovery

    Hi,
I have a relatively simple trigger that gets created through discovery. In the trigger name I have seen that can't specify the hostname, ie. {HOST.NAME}. Is this because macros work differently with trigger prototypes?

My trigger prototype name looks like this atm...

    {HOST.NAME}: became a slave

...and {HOST.NAME} isn't resolving to the name of the host...

    Regards,
    David

      Hi David,

If you see that {HOST.NAME} in Configuration -> Host -> Tiggers then it is completely normal behavior of Zabbix. Zabbix will know the host name from host settings and there ios no need to specify anything else.

However if you see {HOST.NAME} in Monitoring -> Triggers then there is a problem somewhere.

Can you please specify where do you want to see the {HOST.NAME} resolved?

      Best Regards,
      Ingus

Yes, you're right. It can sometimes be confusing that some macros resolve when looking at Configuration -> Hosts and others don't. i was wondering whether macro integration worked the same for discovered items and triggers and you've confirmed that it does. Thanks for the clarification...
