    Zabbix - SNMP Capabilities

    Hello,

We are considering installing and configuring a Zabbix server to monitor our network.

We have multiple locations, but our servers (a mix of Windows-based and unix-based machines) are all housed in a single location. Almost all of our unix machines are running as CTs on proxmox servers while the Windows servers are their own physical servers.

I have researched Zabbix and it's capabilities using the Zabbix agent however, I do not find any information about monitoring a device using strictly SNMP. What I find instead is tutorials on how to configure the agent for use on servers.

Most likely, our servers would be able to install and run the zabbix agent without any problem. My question is regarding a device that does not have an operating system upon which to install the agent. For example, if I wanted to monitor the snmp information of a firewall device like a Sonicwall, what steps would I take?

Could someone point me to a tutorial for SNMP with the version we are considering: Zabbix 2.0?

    Hi,

Zabbix has build in snmp support

and if you combine this with LLD, you have a really nice snmp monitoring
