After import of template metrics are not deleted

So, after deletion of metric on my first zabbix server i decided to apply this changes in my second zabbix server. To do that i exported my template from the first server and imported it to the second. I also checked that there is no metrics in my exported "template.xml" that i deleted. But after importing this template to second server metrics did not disappear instead they keep hanging on my overview tab. What is the reason for that?

Hello and welcome!

Not sure what metrics are you talking about exactly but the thing is that if you have some items on your old server that are not present in the new template, the items will not be removed after the template import. You have to delete them all from the old server manually.

However, if you don't mind deleting all the historical data on your old server, you can simply delete all the items there and then import the new template. But be cautious, do this after strong consideration if you are running a production system.
