Connecting Zabbix to DNS provider API

Has anyone tried to connect Zabbix to a DNS provider? The idea being Zabbix could trigger a DNS change if it detects a server is down.

Wondering if there is anything out there already or some examples.

Each and every provider probably has a different API, so really not much code reuse, also switching DNS records automatically is probably a bit drastic, unless you know with 100% certainty that your availability checks in Zabbix are bulletproof.

They are about as bulletproof as any other checks. The alternative is to use a DNS provider that offers this service. You generally have to pay extra for that.

Different API for different providers, software etc. is just the nature of API. People still offer it and people still use it.
