    Question about Problems tab

    Hello,

I am new to Zabbix. I recently installed Zabbix 4.0 LTS version and added windows hosts. Everything is okay. I see some problems related to Windows hosts in Problems tab. When I solve some of that problems in Windows hosts, after a while I see that problems are marked as Resolved in Problems tab. It is fine. But I have difficulty to solve the following kind of problems.

    1. Problems tab shows that whatever service in Windows host has been stopped (Startup automatic delayed). If I start that service, after a few seconds that problem is marked as Resolved and then disappears, but if I change that service from Automatic to Manual or Disabled that service in services.msc in Windows host, that problem still exists in Problems tab with the "Latest value = Stopped".
    2. Problems tab shows that whatever service in Windows host has been stopped (Startup automatic delayed). I uninstall the program and its service automatically is removed from services.msc. But Problems tab shows that problem still exists with the latest value "No such service (255)".

I wonder why Zabbix doesn't check the if that service has been disabled or removed. How can I solve this issue? Thank you in advance.

After changing the service settings of Windows, try to execute service discovery of the target host registered on Zabbix server.
Check "Windows service discovery" and Click "Check now!".

Thank you for your reply. I did as you said, but didn't see any changes in Problems. I want to know, should I always click "Check now" in each host when I make changes in any Windows hosts? I see update interval is 1 hour in Discovery, it meas that it checks in every 1 hour?

Items and triggers automatically registered by discovery are updated at intervals set in the discovery rule. The default is one hour interval as you wrote.

If you force the execution of a discovery rule that you want to update, the latest service list will be acquired and the settings for the service that you no longer need should be deleted. However, for "Keep lost resources period" in the discovery rule settings It may not have been deleted by the setting. It may be improved by temporarily setting a short "Keep lost resources period" period so that unnecessary things are deleted early.

Thank you very much. It helped. I have one more question. Default value for "Keep lost resources period" is 30 days. Is it safe to keep it 1 hour in Windows OS template? If not, why?
