Our corporate VPN consists of around 8 VPN servers which connect to a central radius server for authentication. All servers are monitored with Zabbix. We want to collect statistics on the number of employees connected to the VPN in total and also per server. All this information is easily retrievable using custom Zabbix user parameters on the central Radius server.
However when creating the items which report on how many active connections there are per server, can I create the item in the template which belongs to the servers or do I have to create the item on the radius server where the information is stored? If the item is on the radius server then we have to manually add a new item every time we add a new server which is not what we want.
