XML file monitoring

Hi Zabbix Experts, i have searched, found and tried various methods to pull xml based counters into zabbix, as i have a platform that only expose data via xml file for OSS/BSS. I haven't found anything that works and getting bumps from knocking my head against the table. This is a fairly common way now to expose counters, surely there is an easy way to get this data into zabbix?

If you use Zabbix 4.0 or later, you may be able to cut out the values obtained from XML using XML XPath for preprocessing.
