    How can I eliminate all the UNKNOWN strings from my notifications?

    Hello all,
    Currently running 2.2.3 server. I have 8 linux hosts up with the default linux template. I have successfully configured the bare minimum for email notification. Now I'd like to make the mail a bit more useful. Here's one of my initial email strings.
    Code:
    CPU iowait time (tstoradb01:system.cpu.util[,iowait]) 9.35 % 2.*UNKNOWN* (*UNKNOWN*.*UNKNOWN*):
    *UNKOWN* 3. *UNKNOWN* (*UNKNOWN*.*UNKNOWN*): *UNKNOWN*
    Wow. That's a lot of UNKNOWN stuff Where are these values populated? What can I do to make them useful or supress them. If an operator gets a string of UNKNOWNS, their eyes glaze over and they forget who to call!

    TIA Dave

    Hi Dave,

    In frontend go to
    Configuration -> Actions -> select the action that sends emails
    Check the Default message field and probably take away the lines:
    2. {ITEM.NAME2} ({HOST.NAME2}:{ITEM.KEY2}): {ITEM.VALUE2}
    3. {ITEM.NAME3} ({HOST.NAME3}:{ITEM.KEY3}): {ITEM.VALUE3}

    Does that help?

    Best Regards,
    Ingus
