Which OS to install Zabbix on ?
As I am totally new to Zabbix (but not to NMS) I was wondering which is the leasy problematic OS to install Zabbix on (I do favor Ubuntu etc.) ?

OS per se has nothing to do with problems on the system. The overall solution is as good as the admin who has put it all together.
If you are better on Ubuntu then go for it. Zabbix has packages for all LTS releases, wide community support exists, documentation, books etc. Same goes for the database - MySQL vs PostgreSQL. None of the engines outperform the other just because of a better build. It is the tuning what matters afterwards.
Bottom line - use the OS and DB which you know better because you will have to deal with it on daily basis. You will have more problems if choosing something you don't know just because some guy on the forum said so.
