Help with simple SNMP Switch Query

Hello,

i want to Monitor the ports of a levelone gsw-2476 Switch.

Maybe i´m to stupid to understand the threads or howto´s i found in the web.

The Error Message
Cannot find index "IfDescr" of the OID "IF-MIB::ifOutOctets["index","IfDescr","Port #17"]": Timeout while connecting 192.168.

You should use Low-Level Discovery for this kind of check.
You need to be in Zabbix > 2.0 and the "Template SNMP Interfaces" template shoud work out of the box as long as you set the {$SNMP_COMMUNITY} MACRO to "public".

Hi,

thanks for the tipp, but i got still an error.
On the Availability section, i got a Red SNMP Sign with the message:
Timeout while Connection to "192.168.101.150:161"

If you take the string in "SNMP OID" field and use it with snmpget command, it should be able to get the value.

E.g. for a Procurver switch a simular OID is IF-MIB::ifInOctets.1, and her's the result of snmpget:

$ snmpget -v2c -c public 192.168.3.7 IF-MIB::ifInOctets.1
IF-MIB::ifInOctets.1 = Counter32: 4096293254

On the console i got a timeout too... but then i realized that i got a difference with the ip address.
