How to disable/bypass Ping Check as a prerequisite to monitor hosts over zabbix
We have a group of hosts that was monitored by zabbix for last one year.Due to some policy change Ping Check was disabled on the hosts that were being monitored .After few weeks we have to restart the zabbix services on the zabbix server for some maintenance activities .Post the maintenance,when we have restarted the services ,We are NOT able to see get the zabbix data from the monitored hosts.Services are running fine .
We suspect that zabbix does initial ping check for reach-ability of the hosts and then starts gathering data .
We can see in the configuration-->hosts , that STATUS of hosts are Enabled ,though AVAILABILITY is shown RED(Tip shows that host:10050 network unreachable) .
