    Monitor own services

    Hey,

    I have a question.
I have been using ZABBIX for a good month now and I am very satisfied.
    It's good software.

Now I have a little problem.
I would like to monitor own "services" better said screens on a Linux system via monitoring.
    How can I realize this?

How can I enter it in the templates in such a way that it monitors for example instead of FTP my Screen X whether this is available.

I am very happy about every tip.

    Greetings
    Felix

Define more precisely what you want to monitor? How many screen processes are running? Or existence of some network service with TCP\UDP port?

      thank you for your answer.

      Yes, I was unclear.

So it's a deamon that can also be reached via TCP from certain IP addresses.

But I'm interested if I can monitor not only the TCP port but also the server itself.
For example ZABBIX looks at the process "Deamon1" is active or it is not active and gives a message via trigger if it is inactive (status 0).

However, it would be enough to monitor the screen processes.
So you can see immediately if for example out of 10 only 9 are still active, something is wrong.

Maybe you can understand me better now

Ok! If an zabbix agent is installed on the host you can monitor the number of processes running (0 means no process), number of process in different state or the process memory\cpu usage . (https://www.zabbix.com/documentation...s/zabbix_agent) . See proc.num[<name>,<user>,<state>,<cmdline>,<zone>]. For exmpl "item key -> proc.num[screen,,run] and trigger Item_value < 10 -> Warn ".
