Migration from Zabbix 4.0 (MySQL) to Zabbix 4.2 (PostgreSQL)

    Hello,

I would like to move Zabbix from the old server to a new one.
I would also like to change DB from MySQL to PostgreSQL + TimescaleDB.
How to do it best? The database is not too big, about 7GB.

With 7GB db mowing to TimescaleDB it is kind of overkill.
And remember that zabbix is using only SQL92 compliant queries so using PostgreSQL is kind of overkill as well.

      Hi
I would like to do the same thing, going from 3.4.2 on MySQL to 4.4 and Timescale DB.
Our current MySQL DB is just over 200GB and 670 NVPS and housekeeping is becoming an issue.

Anyone have some pointers in the right direction?
Official docs are just for setting up Timescale if you already have Postgres and google only gives incomplete threads with similar questions from several years ago.

maybe here - its kinda more question to DBA or zabbix support

The prospect of migrating a database can be intimidating, especially when migrating from one database management system to another. This tutorial provides in…

you can always partition your mysql to avoid housekeeping issues ( or if you dont need the historical data i would setup the database from scratch and migrate just hosts , setiings, etc )
