    Moved from Appliance to 2.2.1

Ok on a suggestion I moved off of the appliance to a CENTOS6 machine running Zabbix 2.2.1 downloaded from the repository.

I imported my templates which went well. And it looked like it brought over some host information too but not the host themselves.

Of the 30 hosts I was working with only 9 of them reconnected to Zabbix and showed up on the console. I have verified my settings looked like they did on the appliance however I still can't communicate to all the remote agents that I had at one time.

I have verified the agents are running and I did restart them to force a connection and still no dice.

    Any suggestions?

Are your agents in passive or active mode?
Does you zabbix server has the same IP address, as the appliance had, or a different one?

They are all doing passive checks.
The IP and the name of the server is the same.

In Configuration --> Hosts in rightmost column what is the status of "Z" icon for lost hosts? Is it gray of red? If it's red, what's the text tooltip, if you put mouse pointer on top of that icon?

Another source of valuable information is zabbix server log. You can put DebugLevel=4 to get more info (temporarily, as the log will start growing very fast).

They were all grayed out and the server was spitting out host not found messages.

I did eventually resolve this. What I did was I went to my old appliance and exported the hosts out and imported them to the new system. That resolved the host not found messages and the getting them monitored.

What I did next was I set back up the auto-registration to see if I can get the agents to auto register next time they try and go for an active check.

This I'll be working on today as well...
