Zabbix agent compilation from source and service monitoring by systemctl or service

    Hello,

I have a little problem to make zabbix agent with encryption on ubuntu and zabbix-agent service monitoring on linux.

When i compile zabbix agent with encryption from source, then service zabbix-agent status and systemctl status zabbix.agent.service dont work. If i install zabbix-agent with apt-get install zabbix-agent, then there is no encryption available. Any ideas or recommendations how to combine these two things together to work?

Sorry for newbie questions and thank you for your answers,

    Tomas.

What are the detailed versions of Ubuntu and Zabbix you are using?
If you use the official Zabbix package, you will be able to download packages that have encryption enabled. Encrypted communication is possible if the following line is output in the Zabbix agent startup log.

    Code:
      3102:20190806:100839.611 TLS support: YES
In order to enable encryption, it is necessary to set encryption in the configuration file. There are two ways to use certificates and use PSK, but at first I think that using PSK is easy.

      Thank you for your reply.

Thank you for a good idea about zabbix-agent version..

in the Ubuntu package repository there was an old 2.4.7 or something like that zabbix-agent package. After downloading package from the Zabbix repo everything is fine now Thank you again for an idea!
