"Configure DB connection" Page Not Responding

Hello,

I am setting up a new Zabbix installation, and I admit that I am a novice to all of this. But I've been following the following installation guide:

I have set up a new Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS server; installed MySQL, Apache, and PHP; and done all the configuration steps recommended in the guide.

I then installed Zabbix and am attempting to configure it using the Web-based setup utility. I get through the "Welcome" and "Check of pre-requisites" pages without issue. On the "Configure DB connection," I enter all of the requested information and hit "Next step" and it just sits there processing forever. It never moves on to the next page and it never gives an error. It just sits and spins.

I have tried it multiple times and allowed it to sit for extended periods of time with no change. I have also tried using "localhost" for the "Database host" name, as well as the actual name of the server. No difference.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Please try following official instruction just exactly for Ubuntu 18

There is video at the bottom too, not for ubuntu, but still covering the majority of sequence how to properly setup everything.
