I am using Zabbix 4.2.5 and when monitoring windows stations with automatic DHCP, when changing the IP of the station using the "discovery" rule it does not update the host but creates a new registration with the new assigned IP. In "self-registration" it does not create another host and does not update the IP of the registered host. Is there any form of network monitoring in Zabbix with stations with automatic DHCP?

Yes, there is one form and it is called Zabbix agent (active) checks.
By default, every template element inside "Template OS Windows" is configured to initiate the connection from the servers side.
To work around your DHCP situation you can:
1) Convert every item (including discovery rules) in the template from "Zabbix agent" to "Zabbix agent (active)"
2) Make sure the "Host name" configured in the frontend match 1:1 with "Hostname=" configured in zabbix_agentd.conf
3) Restart agent
With item type "Zabbix agent (active)" the IP address of the host is not respected at all. You can set there 8.8.8.8 and the agent will still be able to "push" the metrics to your Zabbix server and NOT googles DNS server

About the video i have a problem with windows 10 and 8 version where i don't have any response from zabbix agent on windows and it is red color, i have searched in web but i don't get any solution...please help meLast edited by aradralami; 22-10-2019, 11:08.Comment
