Zabbix web interface fails to load

    Hi All,

Since I upgraded to 2.2 I've had some trouble with my Monitoring > Latest data view.

If the host groups I'm viewing are more than 20 or so servers, the view never completes loading, as per the pic that follows

less than 20 servers, the response is very snappy.

I had no issue with 2.0 generation of Zabbix. My gut feeling is that I've simply got some mysql/apache/php parameter wrong - but I don't know where to start my search.

    Any pointers?

Upgrade to 2.2.4 and it should solve this problem. For me the patch that fixed it was in https://support.zabbix.com/browse/ZBX-7373 and you can just apply this patch to your front end to test it out.

Sorry I should have noted - I am actually running 2.2.4 at present.

So what I have is a bug?

I'll update to latest release and see if that addresses it.

        Hi,

Please check your webserver error logs. Try looking for PHP memory related errors. If you found anything there, please increase PHP memory_limit settings in your webserver (probably Apache?) configuration and restart it.

        Best Regards,
        Ingus

that was the problem in the end.

I had to up the limit from 128M to 3G to get it to work.

Is that a bit high? I've only got around 250 hosts. and 90 values a second.

            Hi,

Glad you got that working finally. 3G for memory limit however seems to be too much though.

What version of Zabbix are you running currently?

            Best Regards,
            Ingus

              Hi Ingus,

Yes, I felt it was high too.

I'm running the most current version, 2.4.3.

                Hi,

2.4 has a redesigned "Latest data" page for the very same reasons you had on 2.2.

Therefore you should be able to load the page with much less than 3G of memory for PHP now but of course each environment is different so you should do some tests and find out what would be the acceptable limit for you.

                Best Regards,
                Ingus
