    2.2 to 4.0 vs 4.2

We're running version 2.2 and want to upgrade to 4.
Initially we were considering just going to the latest, 4.2. I saw some nice words somewhere about how direct upgrades from even version 2.2, were supported.

However, then I noticed that, with our centos 7 repos, there is already a version 4 of zabbix in epel for us. Although.. its version 4.0.5

All things being equal, we'd like to keep things simple and just use the epel version.
But thought I'd ask first: is there anything horrible we need to be aware of?

Will 4.0.5 support the direct upgrade from 2.2 ? I dont see that wording in the 4.0 notes

In our company we had upgraded from 3.2 to 4.0 in Centos and everything went smoothly.
But if you have a big environment i strongly advice you to start small... Creating a separated server (and at least one proxy if you use it) with the new version, adding this new server/proxy to the agent configuration (each agent can send data to multiple servers/proxies) if you use agent, of course. Create some hosts in the new server and add new templates with the SNMP items, etc.
