    Zabbix Agent throws - connection attempt failed exception

    HI,


    While run zabbix_agent , I got following error in zabbix_agentd.log,

    2300:20140828:195829.165 using configuration file: C:\zabbix_agentd.conf
    4624:20140828:195829.167 agent #0 started [collector]
    3516:20140828:195829.167 agent #1 started[listener #1]
    4024:20140828:195829.168 agent #2 started[listener #2]
    4484:20140828:195829.168 agent #3 started[listener #3]
    4248:20140828:195829.168 agent #4 started [active checks #1]
    4248:20140828:195850.174 active check configuration update from [192.168.4.168:10051] started to fail (cannot connect to [[192.168.4.168]:10051]: [0x0000274C] A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.)


    In server console(GUI), The agent server availability is green. But it has not refresh the latest data due for the agent error..

    Please help !!!!

    Check ServerActive option to be specified in zabbix_agent.conf.
    If this parameter is not specified, active checks are disabled.

    Additionally, check your firewall config on zabbix server is allowing connection on 10051 port (tcp)

      Hi,

      Thanks for your response. I already configured the attribute serverActive in Agent side.

      ServerActive=<server IP address>:<Port Number>

      In Server firewall, iptables is not there. So there is no firewall are configured.

      But now in web page, I can able to see the latest DB data without issue.

      I am new to zabbix, please suggest me, is it fine to continue with below exception on agent?(I am asking the priority/severity for this exception..)

        I could suggest the following additionally:
        Try telnet zabbix_server_ip 10051. Does it connect? If not, check the ListenIP option in zabbix_server config is not set to only localhost/127.0.0.1. And ListenPort is not set to something different from 10051

          Due for my medical leave.. I didnt reply for quite long time(Apologies)



          The Agent is running on Window 7. So telnet command to server is not working for me..

          But I set server listen IP is default.. If I change the original IP<**.**.*.*>. Server is not UP. So i used now the default IP.

          But in LIsten IP, I changed from default to 10051. But still, it shows the same exception..
