Setting up E-mail Notifications in Zabbix server

Currently running Zabbix 4.0 on ubuntu and I also have a private mail server. Can I get a step by step walk through on how to set up the notifications? So far everything I tried (including youtube instructional vids) has failed.

The most simple way is to talk with your mail server admin to setup a smtp relay. After that in Zabbix, at Administration - Media types - Email put your smtp server IP, Port, email address (Ex.: [email protected])
You can use an autheticated smtp but i didn't try that.

Hi story. Thanks for reaching out. Do you mean setting up a relay for the zabbix server to talk to our mail server? What I'm trying to use now is ssmtp to reach out. Is what you're saying the only way since we have a private mail server?
