Hi All,
This has probably been asked before, but I'm new to Zabbix (previously used Nagios for 15 years and Z better) and I'm not sure how to phrase it to search for it. I'm running Zabbix 4.4 on Ubuntu 18.04.
What I'm looking for is how to create a template/macro/something that after I successfully add a Cisco switch, to tell it to monitor a single specified switch port. We don't need to monitor all 48+ ports on a switch, so I have disabled the 'Network Interfaces Discovery' Discovery Rule within 'Template Module Interfaces SNMPv2' that was linked to 'Template Net Cisco IOS SNMPv2'.
I just want to monitor the uplinks and a few specific ports that would differ on every switch.
Is there a way to apply that discovery to just a single interface?
What I *think* would work is under 'Configuration -> Hosts -> %host% -> Discovery rules' that I clone the rule 'Network Interfaces Discovery' and point it to a specific interface, but I'm not sure how to / what to change the Key, or SNMP OID to for this.
Can someone please let me know how to configure this, or if there's a different / better way to do this?
Thank you!
Ray
