I did the same thing, at first glance I thought it was the idiotic "time since application start" timestamp that a few applications use (Virtualbox, OpenJDK GC logging, etc).
But it's actually a sensible format of PID, YYMMDD, and HHMMSS.sss. Just a little harder to eyeball than the standard "date" output, but with the advantage of being easily machine parsable.
