    Zabbix 2.4... or is it?

    I have just done a test run at upgrading from 2.2 to 2.4 and got extremely frustrated in that it did not appear to be upgrading.

    The reason is the GUI says 2.2.

    Even when you do a fresh install, the Welcome Screen says (in great big letters) "Welcome to Zabbix 2.2"

    That aside, it did not say anything about upgrading databases, as it did in the 2.0 to 2.2 upgrade. Is that right?

    Other than that it did seem to be a successful upgrade, but based on the above, I am a bit uneasy about upgrading the live system.

      Did that.

      I see now that the top right hand corner of the GIU says "zabbix 2.2" (lowercase z), and the footer says "Zabbix 2.4.0 Copyright..."

      I think someone forgot to change version numbers.

      Would still like to know about the database upgrading.

        top right corner? isnt that your zabbix instance name?
        that is a name you defined when you installed zabbix, it cannot be changed...

          Interesting.
          You are right. That is where the Zabbix instant's name is displayed.

          Being a test-bed, I did't bother to enter a name when doing the config.

            That name can easily be changed.
            In zabbix.conf.php, this line:
            Code:
            $ZBX_SERVER_NAME                = 'Zabbix 2.0.9 PRODUCTION';
