cannot send list of active checks to

    Hi,

    My setup is like this:

agent -> proxy -> zabbix server.

Hosts are auto discovered, but in zabbix proxy logs i see:

22842:20140917:221841.034 cannot send list of active checks to [x.x.x.x]: host [naraj] not found
22844:20140917:221934.478 cannot send list of active checks to [y.y.y.y]: host [bcb] not found

For sure i did something wrong, but can't figure out what.

    Thanks for your help,
    Mihai.

In Zabbix frontend, are your hosts named exactly as shown in the log?

Are your hosts "enabled" (monitored) in the frontend?

On your hosts that you are monitoring, in the file zabbix_agentd.conf, do you have the field ServerActive= set to the IP of your Zabbix proxy server?

all of this was setup. now it's working, probably it needs some time.

another question: is necessary to allow on firewall all monitored host to access proxy on port 10051 ?
      can this be avoided ?

      thanks.

That delay is caused by this setting on your proxy in zabbix_proxy.conf. As you can see, I have changed mine to update every 5 minutes instead of every hour. If you make this change, be sure to restart your zabbix_proxy process.

        Code:
        ### Option: ConfigFrequency
        # How often proxy retrieves configuration data from Zabbix Server in seconds.
        # For a proxy in the passive mode this parameter will be ignored.
        #
        # Mandatory: no
        # Range: 1-3600*24*7
        # Default:
        # ConfigFrequency=3600
        ConfigFrequency=300

          Thanks tchjts1

What about access on port 10051 from hosts to proxy ? allow rule in firewall is the only way ?

          thanks
