    Zabbix Newbie

    All,

I'm newbie to zabbix world... Got zabbix installed and I like it...

    I have some quick question..

    1. In in of my Linux servers, the auto-discovery of the filesystems did not create items & graphs. How can i 'Force auto-discovery'

    2. In the included Linux template, the graphs are minimal, Is there any additional Linux templates. ( EX: memory graph only has available memory, not other advanced memory graphs)

    3. I have a FreeBSD 10 Server, It seems that in FreeBSD, the only 2.2.x version of the agent is available through ports. My server is 2.4.0, will this agent communicate without any issues?

    -Thanks in Advance
    Vijay

PS: My zabbix-server is installed in Centos6.5, with zabbix 2.4.0 version. All my agent use active checks.

    1. Assuming all of your agents are at least 2.2, the default disk discovery is 1 hour, if they still aren't showing up I would look into the agent logs. To my knowledge outside of adjusting the discovery time there is no way to "force" a low level discovery tomorrow.

    2. You can do google searches, but in general zabbix is a pretty open frame work when it comes to monitoring. The default templates are supposed to be starting points that you can adjust to your specific needs. Zabbix for instance doesn't really provide any more advanced templates, so they would just be from the community.

    3. The older agent will communicate with the newer server, you really only miss out on newer features that have been enabled in the agent (for example if your agents were pre-2.0 they would not support disk discovery)
