    Monitoring HP Proliant DL20 Gen10

    Hello !

I'm Rélo and i'm actually working for a little company. I'm studying beside of this job in IT Network.

My tutor ask me to install Zabbix on the HP Proliant DL20 Gen10, something i've done, done and redone, to clearly understand how Zabbix works.

Well, the problem is that we want to monitor this server. But ! We don't want to use the iLO soft which is brought inside of it (actually it would be ok but it's a work to learn how to use Zabbix that my tutor makes me to do).

So, I've installed Zabbix with the normals monitoring settings (CPU use, RAM use, ...) and I want to monitor Disk Failure or some alerts that are not natively inspected by Zabbix.

I've seen there is many template server for HP DL380 so I tried to understand how it works, apparently, i mean what i understood, it uses MIB number to get the component's stat.

The thing is : I don't know how to reach this MIB, I've made many Google researches, impossible for me to get it ... That's why i'm coming here to get some explanation.

Thank you for helping ! Rélo.

The ilo chip on the server makes it possible to get information about the server's operation by sending SNMP requests, or it can send SNMP traps itself. The first thing you need to do is configure the ilo itself to make it available over the network.
Next, configure SNMP on the zabbix server as described in the documentation (https://www.zabbix.com/documentation...itemtypes/snmp).
Then we configure the data elements on the network node, possibly using templates.
So-MIB files may not participate in this process! All the necessary OIDs can be seen in the templates!
But if you have done all this and clearly understand what SNMP & MIB is-here is a link to packaged MIBS for HP \ COMPAQ systems https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public...r_na-c04272529
