    Heartbeat - monitoring Zabbix

Is it possible for Zabbix to send an action once every 24h, just to say that it is alive?

We use a script to send all alerts through gnokii. It would be nice to get a message telling me that zabbix and the rest of the system is working.

    heartbeat

Yes this would be good. I came in the other day and just happened to notice that zabbix_serverd had stopped. I'm going to resort to a "ps -ef | grep zabbix_server" style solution at the moment. I guess i can restart it too.

Process monitoring is ofcourse an option, but not optimal. I would like it to work more like a watchdog function, connected to the zabbix server's monitoring-loop.
Then you know for sure that zabbix is performing its tasks.

        Hi Mart

You will have to mark it as a feature request or add it to the server yourself. I don't think it's supported yet. Good idea!
