    zabbix-server-mysql does not get installed

    hope I'm in the right place.

    I'm following this instruction : https://tecadmin.net/install-zabbix-on-ubuntu/

    Instead of installing the zabbix-release_4.2-1+bionic_all.deb, I downloaded the zabbix-release_4.4-1+bionic_all.deb file.

    By the installation of the zabbix-server-mysql and zabbix-frontend-php and zabbix-agent, the following error-output shows up:

    ahmedsmaha@DarkStar:~$ sudo apt install zabbix-server-mysql zabbix-frontend-php zabbix-agent

    Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
    requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
    distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
    or been moved out of Incoming.
    The following information may help to resolve the situation:

    The following packages have unmet dependencies:
    zabbix-server-mysql : Depends: libmysqlclient20 (>= 5.7.11) but it is not installable
    Recommends: snmpd but it is not going to be installed
    E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

    This isn't a Zabbix issue. This is a more general problem with the packages you already have installed.

      Hi, I'm getting the same error with installation. Fresh installation of Ubuntu 19.10, but I receive the same error. This is the message (in spanish):
      "Los siguientes paquetes tienen dependencias incumplidas:
      zabbix-server-mysql : Depende: libmysqlclient20 (>= 5.7.11) pero no es instalable
      Recomienda: snmpd pero no va a instalarse"
      I put attention in "Recommends: snmpd but it is not going to be installed", so I installed snmp and I see that snmpd installs a new version of libmysqlclient (21) too. So I think that the version 20 is obsolete, and I believe that you can update the requierements for zabbix-mysql-server package.

      I can't see from here. Usually "apt-get -f install" is what I would try when I get this kind of error from apt. It's not a Zabbix issue, in any case. If the issue only appeared after attempting to install Zabbix packages, then it may be the case that you have specified the wrong distro version when adding the repo.
