    Struggling to create vmware esxi hypervisor triggers for powerstate

    Hey there,
    We are using Zabbix 3.0 and i am trying to monitor our company vmware configuration and got so far that all my Hypervisors and VMs are autodiscovered.
    I am able to check the Powerstate of all VMs with the Trigger

    Name: VM guest {HOST.NAME} is powered OFF
    Expression: {420a94d8-8a30-61ed-d07b-9af817b90a0c:vmware.vm.powerstate[{$URL},{HOST.HOST}].last()}=0

    Is there any way to do the same with the Hypervisors?
    The only usefull Item i found was Template Virt VMware Hypervisor: Overall status
    but i cant figure out how to use it.
    Any ideas or Sites where i can find preconfigured triggers to get information when the hypervisors go down or are not responding?

    The only way you'll get the power state if the hypervisor isn't actually running is by monitoring the lights out management feature of the server, eg iLO or Idrac, both of which have Zabbix templates.
    Maybe you'd be better off just monitoring it with ping!
