How to use a passive agent that has a dynamic IP address that changes randomly

How would one do that? I believe it is an actual IP address that is required in the settings. Were you just tossing out a random guess, or is this something you have actually done?

Host interface settings can be specified by IP address or DNS name. If you are not managing with DNS, consider specifying an IP address or using active checks.
