ZABBIX PROBLEMS via API

I wonder if one can create ZABBIX PROBLEMS (events) via ZABBIX API through HTTP POST Requests.

Well, I checked it and seen there is only get method. Yet, I wanted to ask.

I'm trying to utilize TICK/TIG stack (influxdb) and I need a panel to display alerts like in Zabbix. I've integrated alerta.io yesterday and seems fine but zabbix would be better for my case.
Still, if you have any other alternative, please share.
