    Ghost data ???

    Hi

I have zabbix - main zabbix box
    template with a trigger
    template is applied to host

    I have 3 proxys

i have this host attached to proxy B.

Every 30s applicaiton sends info to the trigger thats all okay

now the interesting thing is when i turn of proxy B, I still info being entered into the trigger, also when i turn off the app i still see info being inserted into the key. I have turned off all the proxies and also used iptables to block all tcp traffic from hitting the zabbix box and guess what data is still making it into the key !!!!

I'm lost on how its happen and how I can debug this. V4.0

How are your zabbix_agentd.conf server/serveractive property set?
Also, how are the 'lastest data' for this host (when you turn of the proxy).
Just remember that the server don't need the host to calculate the triggers.
Depending on how your triggers are set, they will be fired, event without the proxy or (even) the host.

      Hi

On the client the zabbig agent config has it pointing to the proxy. testing with zabbix_send I can't send to the zabbix box dierctly - the only zabbix server / proxy that will accept input is the proxy defined in the config (on the host template on the zabbix server).

Sorry not sure what trigers have to do with this. But from my understanding of reading triggers on trapper items they are only tested when data is input into them, thats why you can't raise a trigger on an trapper item that say there has been no data for 5 min.

What I was trying to say that data was still being input into the DB a value entering into the DB for that host key pair...

You didn't mention trappers on the original question
Since you think triggers don't have anything with your question, why did you mention it?
Anyway, as you're describing it's really strange.
I don't have experience with trappers, but probably would be good if you can share here evidence of your scenario.
Like screenshots of your item configuration (on zabbix web), proxy, server and agente configuration file, hiding sensible information, of course.
