zabbix api, user permissions

I have a pyzabbix script to comunicate with the api and brig the history of certain items, this script works on one zabbix server, but on another one doesnt. on the one that works my permission are :"Zabbix Admin" and in the other one (that doesnt work) are as a "Zabbix User"

Do I need the permission, at least of a zabbix admin to get the history of an item via api?

I'm answering this with the hope that somebody would need to know this.
You can't access anything via API to which you do not have access via Frontend. Make sure you have your permissions setup right to access the resources which you are looking to access.
