Why is an update interval of 0 throwing an error?

I'm using flexible scheduling and want to only check the values during my time frames. However when i set the update interval to 0 (which should be supported), my item goes into an unsupported state.. Do flexible periods not support update interval of 0?

Zabbix agent active items don't support custom intervals.
