Automatically change host name to snmp value?

My devices show up with IP as the hostname. I tried setting it to unique by oid value but it still sets it as IP.

What I would really like to to is take 2 different snmp values and combine them together for host name. Is this possible?

You want to use it in discovery rules?

? I don't know I just want it to work. Is there more than one way to do it? At a minimum I need to take oid 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.5.0 and convert that automatically to the host name. It would be nice if this was changed automatically also any time the device was discovered with a different value. A bonus would be if I could also take another oid 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.6.0 and combine the 2 together into the host name.

What I need to accomplish is a way to search my devices by these oid values. If there is another way I'm open to suggestions but the search seems to be limited to IP an hostname.

I think zabbix using reverse DNS. If you make A and PTR record for each host, there is one way for view hostname instead ip address.
