    False reboot report

    Hi All,

For some reason Zabbix is reporting a reboot on one of our servers yet there is actually nothing wrong with it and no reboot taking place.

This first happened after a duplicate machine was put on the network but that was then renamed and given a new IP.

It has now been a month since that happened and still Zabbix reports that the machine is rebooting every few mins. I have restarted the Zabbix service but no rebooted the server but this made no difference.

It isn't but I need to find out why it is reporting like this if for no other reason than the thousands of email notifications I am getting.

    Thanks.

Did you remember to change the Hostname setting in the zabbix_agentd.conf on the client?

It looks like two different Zabbix agent(active) sending the information about two different servers under one Hostname.
And because Uptime is not the same on both servers, you have Reboot message again and again.
      Sincerely yours,
      Aleksey

Thanks for the feedback. Upon further investigation I found that the host file was incorrectly amended.

        Now fixed and working.

        Thanks all.
